Getting Started in Fourth Grade:

Welcome to Fourth Grade! We are so glad to have you here at LCS. I made this page to help you get started in fourth grade.

This website, Miss Crachi.com, is an important tool for both parents and students during fourth grade. Once fourth grade begins, I will email the login information. I suggest checking this page on a daily basis once school starts, for announcements and the calendar.

It would be a good idea for your child to review their multiplication facts over the summer. If they know their facts well, it will be a huge help for them during math this year. There are various ways to learn the facts, however, I created some songs to help. These are designed for memorization. Your child should watch these videos and try to sing along. Have them sing the songs all the way through, multiple times. They shouldn't skip around. There is a lot of repetition in these songs, so it s okay if they mess up. It s better for them to keep singing than to stop. After doing this a few times for each song, they will have the facts memorized. I suggest only learning one song at a time. Click here for the songs.

Here are answers to some frequently asked questions:

  • All books and supplies should be in on the first day of school if possible, because we begin using things immediately. This way your child won't feel behind or frustrated. Please don't forget to label everything! Books do not need to be covered because they will stay in school.

Here is the supply list for fourth grade, along with some helpful information and pictures. I recommend taking a look at this to clarify things.

  • Your child will wait in the gym (at the front entrance) until the Morning Meeting when school starts at 7:50am. Students are considered tardy if they aren't in the gym at 7:50am (9:00am on Wednesdays). Please make sure they are on time. This way they can have time to unpack and get ready for the day so they will not start the day feeling rushed and behind.

  • I am allergic to scents, so please do not allow your child to use any perfume, cologne, scented lotion, or scented hand-sanitizer during school. Please have them use roll-on deodorant only (spray deodorant is too strong).

  • The microwave in the classroom is not for student use. The reason is because lunch isn't long enough for every child to use the microwave and it wouldn't be fair to allow some students to use it but not others.

I hope this information helps you make the transition to fourth grade!
